Mercy offers a variety of support groups to encourage patients as they manage their heart disease, including our FREE ICD Support Group - a support group for implantable device patients.
Group meetings allow participants to meet other individuals who have an implantable cardiac defibrillator (ICD), as well as their family and friends.
The ICD Support Group will meet quarterly in 2010 on Mondays from 6 to 8 p.m. Meetings are held at Mercy General Hospital.
Topics planned include:
March 22 ~ "Stress Management and Coping"
June 28 ~ "Evolution of the Implantable Defibrillator"
Sept. 27 ~ "ICD Myth-Busters: Separating Fact from Fiction Regarding ICD Functions"
Dec. 13 ~ "ICD Tachycardia Therapies - Why and When?"
Call (916) 733-6966 for more information.
